Common Questions
Do I need a doctor's order or insurance?
No. CLEAR is direct-access. You order, pay, and receive results directly — no referral, no prior authorization, no insurance required. Pay out of pocket for full privacy.
How long does collection take?
Under 10 minutes at any CLEAR clinic. A certified phlebotomist collects blood and swab samples. You're in and out fast.
How long until I get results?
Most results are ready in 2–5 business days after your sample reaches the lab. Expedited same-day results are available at select locations.
What's the difference between STD and STI?
"STI" (sexually transmitted infection) is the preferred clinical term. An infection may or may not produce symptoms. "STD" implies symptoms have developed. We screen for both.
How often should I get tested?
CDC recommends at least annually for all sexually active adults. If you have multiple partners or are on PrEP, testing every 3 months is recommended. Performers using CLEAR Pass™ test monthly.
